Took me back to the day. Really a bad portrayal of the SANDF. Not factual, hair too long, browns instead of overalls, bush hats instead of Staal dak. Corporal was always in charge. Even the Colonel feared him.
In my day the gays were all chefs. Also, you will not have had any sharp point ammunition when not on the shooting range thus the suicide is unreal. We had some guys who tried to hang themselves in the tent though.
Apart from the warm feeling, it gave me as a proud member of the SANDF, it lacked in facts. Driving through Voortrekkerhoogte and seeing the ruins in which the SANDF is now, is a real kick in the face of all the young men who served in the once pride of our country.
