When explaining the plot to someone, it its most barebones terms, its an excellent story. Summarizing the story has a lot of interesting moments. But when actually reading the book, all these events are completely ruined by some of the worst writing I've ever seen. Its written from the perspective of a strange teenage boy, from someone who has never been a strange teenage boy, and it comes off very unnatural. There will be a tragic event, and the main character's first thought is ALWAYS an inappropriate anecdote, nothing like how a real person would think. Again, this had potential to be an incredible story but was just brought down so heavily by over the top, wacky dialogue.
