You get f'd up people who do f'd up things. Other than the Alice character the other 3 characters were messy people just using each other as distractions and just do not know what they want. Sure they said they loved each other however it was never depicted in a healthy, mature way. Stalking, mind games and manipulations. Alice being ok to playing 2nd fiddle when she could have just moved on. It took her to getting slapped in the face to realize that Dan was incapable of loving anyone in a healthy way. Hollywood movie yet true to what women will put up with or voluteer to go through in the name of love when really it's so much self-sacrafice and little in return. I think Julia's character needed more background or not the tormented artist cliche. It was ok but very prediictable.
