I'm 45 and I've been playing video games since I was a kid. I have nostalgia for old games that always prevent me from calling a game "the best ever." In the last few years I've played Witcher 3, Cyberpunk, Elden Ring, BG3, KCD2, all games i loved but never said they were the best ever. I'm calling this one the best ever. The passion that this games creators have is evident in every facet of it. The creative environments, the writing, the acting, the combat system, the music are all 10s. Its worth playing this game for any one of those aspects but the fact that they are all present in a single game is a miracle. I'm shocked that this game was able to grip me from the prolouge all the way to the poignant ending, both endings. This game is a masterpiece work of art that will stick with me for the rest of my life.

As someone who regularly watches videos on astrophysics, enjoys sci fi, and defends Bethesda, I can't imagine Starfield being made for anyone more than myself but this was one of the most disappointing gaming experiences I've ever had. I played for about 20 hours and I was bored the entire time. I literally forced myself to keep playing because I love Bethesda games even with their flaws and I kept waiting for that moment when it clicked but it never did. It's shockingly bad and it's amazing that so many people are giving this game 5 stars. Even if you're somehow able to enjoy this game, there is no reasonable person who would give this game a perfect score. I'm just glad I played this on game pass and didn't spend $100 on the premium edition.
