You must read the book to fully understand the movie. A lot of people say it glamorized child abuse. The point is, anyone can be an abuser. Rich, poor, ugly, handsome, educated or not. A lot of people don't recognize it is happening in their own house. This is worst case scenario but for so many boys and girls, this is reality. A lot of people don't recognize abuse because sometimes it is seen through rose colored glasses. Abusers groom their victims into trusting them. Some don't have the power to escape abuse. Use this movie to recognize that yes, even a person so kind, charming and intelligent can be capable of horrific crimes.
