After a few years of rumours around which direction the franchise was going to go in I have been pleasantly surprised with this reboot/ in between quel. Fede has done a great job here. The blend of inspiration from the original alien movies along with Alien:isolation inspiration, Prometheus and Dead space was perfect. True horror reactions from me in the cinema! The pacing towards the end could be considered a little fast along with some cringey one liners, however the creative freshness of scenes interacting with the alien and face huggers was enough to look past this. Overall the cast were selected great and I feel like having not so many big stars in the movie made it better. Excited to see the future direction the franchise goes in.

Considering this movie is a remake and an Amazon original, I enjoyed it. This kind of cinema is not meant to be analysed and deeply critiqued as high level movie making, it is just a fun movie with cool fight choreography, with Mcgregors debut acting role. Personally, I love the way Conor was able to kind of play an extreme villain version of himself with comedic elements added in. Could see him in other roles if he was able to fit. Jake Gynenhall good as always. If you don’t want something too taxing you can stick this on and have a giggle.

Overall, good scenery and locations on set but disappointed by the general plot line and lacked some decent fight scene unlike the previous films, plot was rather simple. Would of liked to see what Danny Boyles film would of been had it came to fruition. I guess these studios really just stick with plots which the general public can easily watch and make a load of money off instead of intricate storylines... shame
