Typical woke and massively feminist tale.. the men are all secondary characters, John Connor as saviour is now replaced by Dani. Arnold as the T-101 is now Carl a family man with a conscience who is remotely helping Sarah Connor destroy terminators without her knowing where or from.whom the information is coming from. Grace an augmented soldier from the future, a changed one, is tasked with protecting Dani. The new Terminator, Legion is a black metal version of the T-101 and can adapt like the terminator in T2. It can also replicate itself, hence Legion. The women in this movie take the lead, make all the speeches of note and the men look helpless and lost waiting for their guidance.
This is another annoying feminist movie and terrible addition to a terrible franchise which should have stopped at the original Terminator, which was by far the superior movie. Yeah yeah, I know everyone raves about T-2 but the acting was OTT and poor. The whole thing with T-2 was the effects but I still prefer T-1 for the story and acting.
Anyway.. back to Dark Fate.. some will watch and appreciate this film. I didn't. It was un original, un inspiring, there was no suspense, the acting was awful, the effects, for the most part are good, but again Sarah is too much of a foul mouthed arrogant know it all angst show off. The T101 is too placid and doing all 'For John' who he killed (eventually) but grew a conscience when raising his own family, yes, it sounds as ridiculous as it is, Grace as the augmented soldier, is all over the place and I couldn't buy into her, and Dani goes from scared moose to warrior leader OORAH Feminst Marine at the flip of a switch.. and after the adult Grace dies by (of course) sacrificing herself, to kill the Legion, Dani and Sarah feel the need to drive to a park to see young Grace play with her family around her and Dani vowing that Grace wont die for her again before driving off being watched as they go by the young Grace.. because of course she did.. terrible terrible film.
