Exceedingly "Hollywood" with its "social justice" themes and efforts to cram their version of the fluidity of male and female roles and personas down the viewers throats. The Demelza character toward the end of the third season and beginning of the 4th became all but unbelievable for the time period and the Ross character turned into an effeminate, insipid Hollywood redundancy. The series kept me watching in the beginning, but became painful as the seasons dragged on. I can imagine showing this series to those who actually lived during the late 18th century--the era in which this series was set. I would pay handsomely to see the expressions on their faces. Ugh.
