Spoiler alart⛔️⛔️⭕️ I think beside the many meaning that this story could have the one that really gets me going crazy is what if this story and the atmosphere it has is a metaphor for children who been sexually abused. I mean when SA happens to children they usually don't understant what happened to them and in this story we have margot who found out what happened but not totally cuz she is also a child yet. And when the sun shine on them that is also a metaphor for truth and knowlage they understand what she actually felt. And the way the writer described her charecter was noticable, all the sarrow and how she felt she has lost something. The atmosphare was like they knew something had happened to them but having no clue what it was speacially margot.
