We were expecting a film that traversed the spectacular Venice scenery - however, a Haunting in Venice finds it's cast marooned in a rotting mansion in a dark storm - pathetic fallacy by the bucketful. The scenes are played out in gloomy rooms, with plenty of wordy exposition and much twitching of Poirot's evolving moustache. A few jump scares disturbed my slumber now and again, but apart from that it was a very average film .
