My husband and I absolutely loved this movie! We were big fans of the first Joker, and this sequel did not disappoint. As someone who enjoys musicals, I really appreciated the creativity in this second installment; it felt like we were stepping into Fleck’s mind. The fantasy elements of the songs and dances provided a unique perspective on how he views the world. That said, I do think the film was quite lengthy and could have benefited from trimming some of the fantasy sequences, but overall, I thoroughly enjoyed Joker 2. I had read reviews mentioning the musical aspect, which may have helped set my expectations. I actually anticipated a lot more singing and dancing based on what I read! I think some viewers might have gone in expecting it to mirror the first movie, which had no fantasy elements, and that could be where the disappointment stems from. That said, I don’t blame them if this is the case. Ultimately, everyone has their own take…. and my husband and I really LOVED IT! Amazing job Phoenix and Gaga👏🏽👏🏽
