This is the first season of True Detective I've ever really gotten into. I know people love the first season, I've tried to watch it a couple times and just never got into it for some reason - it's objectively well-made, it just didn't grip me. But Night Country is really doing it for me. I will say, I keep watching it right before bed and I can't say I recommend *that.*

Spent about 20 hours, put it down, never picked it up again. I'm not trying to yuck anybody's yum, if you liked it that's awesome, but for me - long time Bethesda fan - it just didn't do the trick. Felt flat, boring. Empty planets, endless loading screens. As soon as I found any angle of interest the game flattened it out. I got Sam and Cora on board and Cora asked for books so I went and found a bunch of books and then there was no option to give them to her. Sometimes companions are like "Hey, our relationship means a lot to me, so I got you this" and it's like the equivalent of $10. The gunplay is fine but not enough to maintain interest. The faction quests are boring. The ship combat is fine. I wish I hadn't spent the money. Hope the next Elder Scrolls turns things around, but at this point not holding my breath.
