My daughter read this as part of Year 11 English (Australia). She was so moved, affected and challenged by the content. I have just finished reading Amir & Hassan’s journey. To me it’s a story of loyalty, strength and power, but the power was strength of mind. I laughed, and I certainly cried. What a fabulous read, but this book is most certainly not for the faint hearted.
