Interesting read: It’s a compilation of different short stories (some are really good, some are just okay). It explores the concept of feminism with the HIJAB as a symbol. It’s an interesting light read which highlights many issue women have to face.

Started reading it because of all the hype that was created. To be honest I expected it to be a bit more mature as the topic is really critical. -Spoiler Alert- Domestic violence is a big issue that should be talked more often, but I felt this novel more like a mainstream teenage romantic novel. I liked the ending though.

Well the novel did not live up to the hype it created. If you just read for fun and are not in the “book critic mindset” you’ll actually like the book. After reading “It ends with us”, I had no hope for this one, but surprisingly I liked it. This book seemed like an entirely different voice. The writing is mature (not focusing entirely on romantic relationships), and the character development is shown along the story. Spoiler: Josh’s character was an interesting addition and to be honest I was more interested in their story rather than Lily and Atlas’. Although the outcome was obvious, but I like the way Colleen Hoover took it slow and the book didn’t focus wholly on Lily and Atlas’ long lost love story. The use of the diary entries and letters to each other were a smart addition, even if they did drag on a little taking away from the storyline. There's a lot of unnecessary content that we already knew. Overall it’s was overhyped, but it’s a light read so if you want to enjoy reading it, keep your expectations not too high.

From where do I start? I am IN LOVE with her words. Overall the memoir IS NOT that interesting, BUT THE USE OF WORDS….WOW!!! Glennon really knows how to play with the words. She has described every feeling so beautifully. This book made me learn so many things psychologically and how human life/ mind works and how little we know of it. Her words hold power which you can feel and relate to. I just wish the story line was a bit better but it was a memoir so there isn’t much she could do.

I was so excited to read it that I finished it in 2 days. I kept on reading it without any pause waiting for the “plot twist” but what a disappointment. The whole story was too mainstream. It was supposed to be a murder mystery but It’s a mystery so light it barely qualifies as a mystery. I was curiously waiting for something excited to happen but everything was so predictable. The whole story revolves around a murder which - I felt - was not even taken seriously. The main character “Molly” was a weak character, too much time spent on inconsistent development of the main character. Not enough time spent on the potentially intriguing points of the story. I am a book lover but sometimes I wonder why such books even exist. Sorry Nita Prose but I have read far better murder mysteries than this one. Better Luck next time.
