It's well-written and well-acted. Very moving and makes one appreciate living now. Many episodes move me (an avowed curmudgeon) to tears - joy, sadness, hope, beauty. Stories are interesting and varied. Gives a glimpse into life 60 years ago. I'm glad I can look up some of the words and references of that time in London.
As for some of the negative reviews - Yes, it does get a little preachy on social topics, but not in an in-your-face, woke manner. Yes, it has lots of pregnant woman screaming in labor. Get over it. That's like complaining that there are too many animals in a nature show. Yes - there is turnover of cast, which is disappointing, but expected in a long running show.
