This show was so well done. I grew up in the church. Many of the active members saying there are poor portrayals or inaccuracies in the historical accounts mostly just don't know or don't want to know their actual history. The idiosyncrasies of the "peculiar people" are spot on. Its like this, from the outside looking in you realize how weird and dated mormon behavior is, from the inside view watching this show you think "what? It's not really like that, we can't possibly be this rigid and awkward?" While there are varying levels of sincerity and devout practice within the church, the portrayals, in my 26 years of experience, are spot on. Someone with a deep connection and a painful exodus from the LDS church poured their heart and soul into this series and it shows.
