This movie is heart-stoppingly good. It is my favorite movie EVER. The actors are so marvelous, the story so historically important and so heartrending, and the Outfront Heroism depicted remains deeply moving - and then there is deep, sacrificial True Love.... and a man more than rising to the occasion and leaving Selfishness behind and choosing to become noble - there isn't anything that isn't wonderful about this film - which is also artistically flawless.

The film was fascinating and Joseph Fiennes did a remarkable and unsentimental job of showing a transformation of soul in a Roman military man - really kind of beautiful. It is truly sad that the Academy doesn't look with favor on "religious" films because Joseph Fiennes diserved an Oscar for this.
