I've been a Mario fan since I was 6, when I got my SNES with Super Mario World. This movie was for me a realization of one of my lifelong dreams. My life has revolved around gaming and the gaming culture, and I was not shocked at all when I read some reviews by these "critics". I have come to the realization that critics only view movies like an AI would, in cold, computer-like terms of efficiency, striving for objective machine-like perfection, leaving no room for human appreciation which is based on emotions. Critics couldn't dream of appreciating this film, not only because they aren't fans of the franchise at all, but also because they're devoid of those emotions, memories, and souls for that matter. Watching this at a theater, and seeing all those places and characters I had known over so many years, was truly a dream come true. I'm just hoping there will be more where this came from.
