This is a lovely read. Swann allows you to suspend disbelief that sheep can be sensitive enough to humans to interpret their behaviors. The author doesn’t overdo it, however, allowing the sheep to make many mistakes along the way, just as humans in one culture often misinterpret those of another culture. In general, the sheeps’ personalities and behaviors are consistent enough with reality to propel the story to its dramatic conclusion in the style of Agatha Christie.
