It is not only a disgrace for Tolkien's legacy but for all those people who have grown up and taken refuge in his wonderful world.
No character, canon and non-canon, seems to come out of Tolkien's world (I'm not surprised).
It hurts to see such beloved characters torn apart and transformed into the most childish archetypes. Tolkien would never have written such flat characters.
In short, the only thing you will get is generic and bad fantasy full of ridiculous characters. Not to mention the agenda that they try to impose and that does not go with the tone of that world.
