This has a Big Lebowski vibe to it and also an investigative spin obviously. It takes the 3rd Episode to feel hooked in my opinion but all new shows take a moment to get settled. Ethan and Jeanne are fantastic of course...for all the negative reviews please understand this show exposes the underbelly of an old Oil Boom Town, racist past and Good Ole Boy System. My old city is in need of a cleansing from so much negative history and Hawk's character does just that. It's also based on an actual person named Chapman and is Ethan's character. We from the area understand this history should be, must be exposed to try to heal from. I don't live there anymore for a reason. There are lots of good people there but an city with such an ugly past I am disgusted with on several fronts and for many reasons. If you're not from Tulsa, don't talk about a city you don't understand like you know it. Oklahoma history is dark and has lots of bad chapters from the Land Run, Native Indigenous Tribal horrific abuses & the abhorrent Tulsa Race Riots. Then there's the KKK insanity, Oil Boom drama, the intensley Religious factions with some real shady Church Leaders (not all by any means but I personally know of some, it's a few too many honestly). Let's not forget the many children exploited and/or abused in group homes and the list goes on and on...every angle of this city and state is tainted in some way by somebody. Trust me, there is plenty of factual history to write about before even getting to any entertaining Hollywood fiction added in! Lol Either way I love this show. Highly recommend it!
