Aquaman has been the centrepiece of Jokes and Memes ever since Super-Freinds, but this amazingly well directed, visually stunning, enthralling journey about loss, triumph, conflict, and of course, discovery is what renders this DC movie the best since the Dark Knight.
I feel as if that is what Marvel movies lack- a sense of discovery or the fact that the character actually earns and becomes a hero, not just given a power.
Aquaman is what WB should be doing, investing time in well-developed characters that carry a story. The humour, plot, cinematography, tone, and characters are all well done, and both Aquaman and Mera are characters that i actually care about, something i dont normally feel after many movies. I know the movie isn't perfect, with its pacing issue towards the start of the movie, but it really does triumph in the majority of factors.
Also, i love how the movie shows the character as not just a big 'bro' like in justice league, but a character who is struggling with both worlds, both dualities coming at war. This is really a memorable movie, and the special effects are quite unlike any other superhero movie, even infinity war.
oh and by the way, the way in which the movie begins is unlike any other superhero moive, and its great when a movie, especially a superhero one, doesn't conform to the norm.
