This version of Perry Mason takes broad liberties in interpreting the characters and setting of the original show - and very much looks at the 1930s through the window of the 2020s, (women in pants, racial diversity, substance abuse, sexual liberation, and a strong dose of morose violence). That being said, it is well done, well acted, and worth watching. It stands on it’s own but it doesn’t diminish value of the original Perry Mason.
