The Song of Achilles by Madeleine Miller is a good choice if you're looking for Greek mythological stories. The story revolves around Patroclus and Achilles. Patroclus is exiled from his father's kingdom. He lives as an exile in Phthia. King Peleus takes him in and there Patroclus meets Peleus' son, Achilles. Achilles, who is the son of a sea nymph, Thetis and King Peleus is destined to be a great warrior. Achilles befriends Patroclus and chooses him as his companion. As time passes their friendship grows into a deep connection. Thetis is not happy with this and she tries everything to keep Achilles from Patroclus. But fails. Meanwhile, Helen is abducted by Prince Paris. And due to oath, Patroclus must go to war. Achilles goes with him. After nine years of war, Patroclus is killed and Achilles avenges him by killing Hector but is killed by Paris after. Before dying, Achilles wishes to mix his ashes with Patroclus when he dies and bury them together. This novel is a masterpiece and a tear-jerker. The story stays with you long after you finish it. My heart shattered into millions of pieces after reading this. I highly recommend this novel to everyone out there.
