I had a hard time getting through first couple of episodes. The performances kept me going. Especially Raven Goodwin. I’m writing this directly after watching episode 8. The dialogue between Goodwin and Nash is riveting. Absolutely Emmy and Globe worthy. And the plot twist was extraordinary. I pray the next 2 episodes are as good as the 8th. The series could have ended there and I would have been very, very satisfied.

Hey! Who doesn’t love a new show about serial killers and profilers! Not for fans of cozy murder mysteries. At times though the sheer amount of murdered women and the graphic depictions of dead bodies becomes a bit overwhelming. As for the constant smoking, I don’t see how filmmakers can eliminate that. Seems like a silly criticism. This show takes place in the mid 90s. Even now, 20% of people in South Africa smoke. It’s perfectly logical that someone with a job involving life and death situations, would be a chainsmoker.
