Amazing ending, 5 stars purely for the last 10 minutes. Lots of Americans are crying and yelling in the review section because they wanted a heroic happy ending that Hollywood has trained them to expect hahahahahaha -Yes, it's a shark movie, there will be CGI, not real sharks, obviously. -Yes, it's a shark movie, it's supposed to be ridiculous. -Yes, it's a shark movie, its facts on sharks are not supposed to be factually correct. -Yes, it's a shark movie, this niche genre's tropes are literally: sharks behave manically 24/7, lots of people die in crazy ways, heroic acts people would not do in real life. If you were expecting anything other than the above then you were setting yourself up for failure before even watching. If you wanted a scientifically accurate film, then go watch National Geographic. The amount of people writing 1 star reviews saying this movie was "illogical" is absurdly funny. Of course it's illogical, it's a shark movie. It's supposed to be. Overall a bit long (2h), but a refreshing and fun take on shark movies.

Boring, squid games knock off. All characters were stereotypes rather than real people and the plot twists were predictable from the beginning. Give us something original, Netflix.

Racist tropes about Asia that only further exaggerate that the US and Hollywood know nothing outside of its borders or about geo-politics. Naturally the Hollywood writers made a bomb drop in the US because they think the US is the center of the world, and then started the film about an American man is married to an Asian woman who adores her husband, and is also a robot. You don’t need much more to realize the racist tropes at play here. The existing AI has taken over all of Southeast Asia into one collective English-named country called “New Asia” and they speak “New Asian”—because the Hollywood execs and writers likely can’t even put those Southeast Asian countries on a map let alone fathom that they have different languages. This choice doubles down on their ignorance of the complex region and erases the entire region to a generic phrase as well as visuals that resemble “Vietnam War 2.0” (helicopters over rice fields with impoverished communities). At one point at about 30% through the film they show the protagonist walking past neon billboards to drive the “Asian” stereotype. And despite being in “New Asia” they use an actual clip of Shibuya crossing, with the Tsutaya building. In a film filled with CGI they couldn’t just make some new screens? Lazy and cheesey. Also, the lasers shown scanning the landscape with bright blue beams are not remotely accurate technically speaking to LiDAR-esque. As a Sci-Fi film you would think they would at least take the time to get something right, but they didn’t.

Loved the show until Netflix decided to make it into 2 parts. There was no reason for the split. I forgot the show was meant to have a part 2 until I saw a news headline about it.

The season 5 finale was one of the most satisfying and conclusive endings I've seen on a TV series. These days TV shows, even "last seasons" try to leave you on a cliffhanger on a false hope of the show coming back in the future. You can tell the Disenchanted writers cared about the fans, and made sure to not forget anything, even with an appropriate post-credit scene that makes you smile. It was a great show, but I'm glad they wrapped it up before it became another show that quickly became fatigue because the studios didn't know when to stop/wanted to milk it until it was dehydrated. Most of the humor is "slap humor" that I don't particularly seek out (I don't enjoy The Simpsons), but the core of this show is plot w/ humor rather than vice versa, which is meant to be choppy and ridiculous and set in a world that surprisingly has a lot of depth. Everything is interconnected, even if it doesn't seem so at first.

Somehow they turned the manga into a live adaptation that doesn't seem cartoon-y or cheesy while retaining the whimsical nature. I was honestly really surprised how well done it was, great casting, and good acting.

Spectacular, original, thought provoking, attention to detail, a perfect capture of our social culture and its shortcomings, an introspective reflection on the icon of Barbie and how it’s still relevant in modern day. A really refreshing movie to see come out of Hollywood.

It’s the same plot as Avatar 1, but for some reason even longer. Angry military man hates the protagonist, tries to hunt him down. Invading humans show cruelty to the wildlife. The only difference is that it takes place on water and there are children as plot points to drive the conflict because the protagonist has nothing left. They spent 10+ years on this? Yawn.

It's okay, but overhyped. Acting is nice, plot is kind of original, good hair and makeup crew, and moments of clever writing. But tbh the writing is its biggest downfall.. Is this a comedy? a horror? a generic drama? It seemed clunky and drawn out in ways that were not necessary for the story, like the Vegas storyline.. or the Church storyline with Edwin.. the parents coming from Korea only to return right away.. the tension with the neighborhood frenemy that just magically disappears.. the random witch character from her childhood.. Episode 9 was the best episode, it was dramatic, horror-inspired, pulled together lots of different subplots in unexpected ways, and cinematic (but thematically matched none of the other episodes). But then Episode 10 was an anti-climatic 30 minute episode of the protagonists just puking on each other. These episodes had to have been written and directed by different people because they were completely separate genres. It didn't make me want to watch a second season. Lots of loose ends, and not the kind that open the story for future seasons. Overall a good first draft, but I don't think the script was ready for actual shooting.
