I've already seen this touching story twice, and may buy the movie in order to catch the subtleties of how these totally different men forge a meaningful friendship in spite of their disparate backgrounds and personalities. Having grown up in Texas with Southern Baptist relatives, I feel deeply sad for people of color who have suffered humiliation and abuse from White people, and I feel ashamed of all White folk who have assumed that less melanin in their skin makes them more worthy of fairness and dignity.
