For die-hards it's a masterpiece, and for everyone else, it will be a head-scratcher. It's an intimate and instantaeous look at Zappa's life with The Mothers, and it's amazing to see how he creatively dealt with a never-ending avalanche of production challenges. In addition there are a lot of deep cuts and inside jokes throughout. Note that unless you're on acid, a knowledgable Zappa fan or an avant garde music or film student you will NOT get it. On the other hand if you're any of those things you'll LOVE IT. Of note, it was the first movie ever recorded on videotape.
