It seems like they are in an untested space ship with parts in the prototype phase, I understand they frequently have malfunctions to keep the show going. But it's almost comical how poorly prepped the ship along with other parts of the missions(not to give any spoilers). I am a bit of space/rocket enthusiast, and from what I've gathered, NASA test all of there parts over and over and over again. There would be no way an actual mission would have that many severe malfunctions with such integral systems. This part of the show annoyed me a bit. But besides that, it's a decent sci-fi show.
