I can only comment on the Adelaide production....in short, it rates as one of the worst stage productions I've ever seen. I took my 15 yo granddaughter who had watched the movie for the first time 2 or 3 months prior. I thought it was only me but she was very disappointed with the show. It seemed to me that no one in the play has ever seen the movie. Magenta, for some reason, develops a whiny, nasally and childish voice towards the end....not sure what that was all about. But the absolute worst was casting Myf Warhurst as the narrator. I love Myf, have watched her for years on Spicks and specks, but the nicest, kindest thing I can say about her performance is....she was absolutely atrocious. Her narration had no depth, it sounded like an inexperienced teachers aide reading to a disinterested kindergarten class. This inclusion rubbish helped to ruin the entire show. The narration requires a strong, deep, well modulated voice, full of masculine timbre, Myf was unable to deliver any of that. The best thing I can say about the show.....the actor playing Brad has a good voice.
Don't waste your money, it is truely terrible.
