As a little kid I liked it but honestly once I was 12 and read it again I realized how bad it was. There’s a difference between inspiration and downright unoriginal. Everyone takes inspiration from Harry Potter and lord of the rings but a lot of this feels like copyright. The characters are unoriginal and have nothing unique. Why is every elf absolutely perfect? They’re all gorgeous and everyone has a crush on them and they’re smart and all powerful. It’s contradicts itself so much, one book Sophie despises the council and their corrupt ways the next she’s literally working for them? The author has no idea how to let go of characters and isn’t good at writing death, forkle dies- no he has a twin, and then she tries to fix it by overplaying it. It does not need 10 books, there’s too many subplots and it feels like nothing will resolve ever. Sorry but this is badly written. Also Fitz anger issues are incredibly random as many of the things in the series are, he’s sweet and perfect one minute and suddenly he’s a horrible person the next? Pick a personality and stick to it please! Even Sophie is one minute nervous and helpless but the next she’s a defiant leader? A lot of the events are unnecessary, random, and never get resolved. There’s so much more I could say but I don’t have the time.
