I had never had the opportunity to read any others of McDermott’s novels, and now I want to try to read the other eight.
Her writing masterfully describes both characters and situations and urges the readers to confront important issues, both personal and national. Although, I wasn’t sure about the ending, I would highly recommend this book as a worthwhile read.
