Beautifully written novel about the the women whose lives have been influenced and touched by an Irish poet.

The Survivors is a good Winter read. Jane is a polished writer. She puts together a good cast of characters who inhabit an off season seaside village in Tasmania. Tension grows as a young woman's body is discovered on the beach. Readers are kept in the dark right till the book's conclusion.

What are the intangible things that make us human? Each of us differing in so many ways. Ishiguro tries to illuminate these facets as he follows the Journey of Klara, an artificial friend of Josie, a frail young girl
