I really enjoyed it at first, it honestly felt a little bit like playing New World at release without all the server issues. There was some lag in the beginning at pre-release but they resolved most of those issues.
The reason I gave this a 2/5 star rating is after putting more than 60+ hours into the game since release it just gets worse after you beat the campaign. The level scaling progression system is brutal and not equally created for all classes. It's extremely grindy after you hit level 50. I hate the paragon system, it's like a chess/checkers board that you select tiles and connect vertical/horizontal boxes together for stat/skill bonuses. It's a little annoying you can't play on a private server or choose not to be around other players.
This is not a game where you can login and have some privacy from others when playing. This is an MMO, you'll run into all kinds of different players from all sorts of places in the game. And a lot of the time they will ignore you when you try to communicate with them, so I'm not really sure why we're playing on a server with 10 different languages and people from all over the world. I mean, cool on paper, I guess.
There is PvP but it's a terrible system, there are a couple PvP zones, and you can go in there and do PvE stuff but bloodmarked players can attack you and kill you to take your embers that you've farmed. The only way to pull embers from the zone is to do this little event thing in the PvP zone which announces to the entire zone "HEY THERE'S PLAYERS RIGHT HERE, KILL THEM" - such a zero effort move imho.
The cosmetics shop is already flowing full steam ahead, the cosmetics machine is ready to deliver all the cosmetics you want if you open your wallet.
It's just way too grindy and just purposefully built to keep you in the game trying to get you to open your wallet for them even more. Good luck and enjoy your Korean Diablo 4 experience. The cutscenes are cinematic masterpieces, I will say that.
