I had put off watching Renegade Nell for a while as it just didn't appeal to me. I recently watched the trailer again and decided to take the plunge and watch 1 episode and see how far I'd go. Very unexpected, Nell's past with Captain Jackson isn't really explored, you kind of put the pieces together to figure out what happened between them. Sprite just appeared out of nowhere and you don't get a real explanation of why he's assigned to protect Nell when he goes inside her to give her fighting powers. Despite a lot of flaws and many unanswered questions and I've seen some reviews mentioning the colourblind casting which didn't fit the century it's based in but please remember, this is a show about a woman who gets superpowers from a magical sprite and other demonic powers that are conjured up from the baddies in this show. So I'd take it all with a pinch of salt, as should you going in. Tbh I did find it entertaining to watch and funny in parts, as bizarre as it was, the storyline held throughout the season and I did manage to finish it. Doubt they'd renew for season 2 though but I'd watch it if they do release it.
