Breaking Anne: This series took me to the "depths of despair." The scenery and costumes are well done. But Lucy Maude Montgomery would be appalled at what Moira Walley-Beckett did to her story. Having the characters go through gyrations very much unlike the personalities Montgomery created is jarring. And yanking the audience out of the time period with dialogue from two centuries later is just sloppy writing. If Walley-Beckett wanted to deviate that much from Montgomery's story, she should have had the courage to write her own book. Badly done!
