I want to love this show but every time I start to get interested someone has to bring up racism or sexism. When a male doctor offers advice it’s sexist and the man can’t possibly understand how hard women doctors have to work ( even though they seem to out number the male doctors in the show ) and no white person can give advice to a black person because what do they know about struggle? A female chief of surgery calls her boss “ the white man “ to his face because he wants her to get help with her ptsd. A black surgeon and former president of the hospital claims he became a doctor because he was mad about his mother dressing him up to go to the pediatrician even though he comes from a family of doctors. No one in this show is allowed to just be a person. They have to be a female person or a black person or a gay person. Sean’s autism should be brought up because it’s why he acts the way he does. It why his brain works the way it does and he gets to grow and overcome. Most of the rest just feel like they are there to be victims of some slight by someone. How can you get mad at a doctor in the ER who tries to use weight race and gender as factors for diagnosis? All these play a role in our health! These things keep me from loving this show and take me out of the story.
