Carole Valentino

I realize this is a classic well made well acted movie but Hopkins performance was toooo much. He could’ve been mistaken for an AI robot in human form. Unreal. Not human. And I realize Emma Thompson’s character was lonely and didn’t have a whole lot of options but what could she possibly see in Stevens? And especially after she married and had a daughter, why was she still so longing for him at the end of the movie? It didn’t make sense to me.
