Napoleon the movie was a disappointment overall. It was a movie that had high expectations for me, but fell way short of those expectations. The movie was very hard to keep up with at times because they tried to cram so much in so little time. There were hardly any battle scenes. Just a lot of dialogue. The movie was based on Napoleon’s obsession with his wife Josephine. But that’s not what made the movie bad. What made the movie bad was everything that the movie was NOT. It was not exciting, it was not captivating, it was not thrilling, it was barely coherent at times. Napoleon’s legend and legacy was not put on full display in this film. I would not recommend this movie for those not knowing beforehand the history of France and Napoleon. It will leave you lost in the story. I didn’t give this movie a 1-star because I fell like there was some great acting and a couple of great battle scenes, and believe me, that’s not even saying much.

Just finished watching this 4-part series and all I can say is that I dont know that, in my 38 years of life I have EVER watched something so emotionally gripping AND draining at the same time. By the time the show was over it seems like my whole perspective on life had changed. I've known and have also experienced injustice in this life being the brown man that I am, but to see injustice portrayed as it was in this miniseries just blew my mind. I warned someone about watching this show, telling them that if they weren't firm in faith and strong in their soul that this show could breed a lot of hate and resentment within. I just pray that this miniseries doesn't do that to anyone, but instead breaks down the walls of hatred and racism and helps us all realize that we are all eachothers brothers and sisters. Because this is a testament that what affects one of us affects us all.
