I loved Nick Earls' earlier books like Zig Zag St and Bachelor Kisses, so I was looking forwards to reading this one. Five minutes in and I was bored and wondering when something would happen. Normally, I would have given up reading by this stage, but because it was written by Nick Earls, I persevered. I wish I hadn't and had gone with my gut instinct. The twist was ridiculous, had no connection to any of the story and I really felt Nick jumped the shark here. I can't remember a book ever making me feel angry and cheated! I actually wish I hadn't read this book mainly because it's tarnished the way I think about Nick Earls, an author I thought of fondly, but not so much now.
