I never saw a Toni Collette film or TV Show, that I wasn't absolutely in love with, she has played such challenging and diverse characters and totally made the film (Muriels Wedding, About a Boy, 6th Sense, United States of Tara, Little Miss Sunshine). However, the only thing criminal coming out of this Mafia Mama monstrosity was the movie itself, I almost walked out half way through, I anticipated every twist and plot, from the moment a character was introduced, and some scenes were purely gratuitous and made no sense (scene where Bianca exposes her leg and mounts Kristin like a "Dom" what did that add, except a confirmation she wanted to be boss???) It was 154 forgettable minutes of overacting in extremely implausible comic situations. You catch your husband at it with another woman, you don't go make him lunch boxes with M-F marked on them the next day - not matter how low your self esteem is. It reminds me of an Italian slapstick comedy, translated into English, which got lost in translation. Saving grace..... I saw it on $5 Tuesday and it was shot in Italy, and the girls had great wardrobes! I might of done the same just for the scenery.
