Beautiful, touching, deeply human storytelling. The cinematography, the lighting and locations, are rich with details and transport the viewer through the various time periods. The cast delivers remarkable performances that feel as if I am part of the lives of the characters they embody so elegantly. Pachinko is, without doubt, some of the best storytelling on screen I have seen in a while. Along with Shogun, one of the best aspects of streaming shows is that we have democratised storytelling to the extent that we now get to watch brilliant artists do stellar work from many different places in the world, not just America and England, and occasionally Western Europe. So enamoured by the people who bought this book to life in such a remarkable way.
