I love the News Hour and watch it every weekday and most of the weekend programs as well. But I have great difficulty with Yamish Alcindor. I am certain she is a good reporter or she wouldn’t be handling the White House beat and other major stories. What she says is intelligent and interesting, but her delivery is so poor that it lessens the impact of what she says and makes it difficult for me at least to listen to her. She seems desperate to cover everything and so she speeds up as she speaks. She needs to be coached in this and to learn that using fewer words and slowing down her presentation will make her message much clearer and easier to follow. I am almost to the point where I leave the room during her reporting. I hope PBS will spend some (more?) money in speech coaching for this otherwise excellent reporter.
