Thithi • Happened to know about this gem after a very long time. This Kannada masterpiece is nothing but pure storytelling. Along with a tightly written screenplay, natural performances of the actors make this film a pure bliss to watch throughout. With a simple plot, the character 'Gaddappa', a philosophical wanderer is used as a pivot for the narrative.
I don't remember any Indian film that had used as many still-frames as Thithi did that too very precisely. Thithi is so realistic to the core that, not even a bit of background score except foley is heard which reflects our real world.
Thithi once again reminds us that a story can be told from anything. There's no need for a heavy plot everytime. Neither heavy dialogues, nor twists. There are many stories happening around to which we just don't pay attention. The maker 'Raam Reddy' had the vision to find one of those never told stories. And had to say, he completely succeeded in narrating a film which is philosophical yet laced with humour.
