The pilot episode expects you to already care about the cast and their plights before you even know who they are. A plot point that should have been used later into the season is shoved in 10 minutes into the episode. Then to top it all off they reuse a scene from the original show but with none of the work put in to make it an emotional scene, instead it feels as if they're trying desperately to convince viewers to care about the characters.
