I wanted to watch this movie because I love seeing Zendaya on screen. She is a fantastic actress and I was curious about the movie. But unfortunately: this movie did not hit. Here are my three reasons why. 1. The music choices and volume throughout the movie. I found it really difficult to get invested in the movie with the random rave music constantly playing. It would be fine in some of the scenes but it was in an overwhelming majority of them. The volume of the music was also at time too loud to hear the actors because of it. I relied on captions for the movie. (Pro tip: don’t watch this movie in a public space. I watched it inside of a motel and it sounded like a rave was going off in my room for 2 hours lol. And the tennis grunts added to the soundtrack lol). 2. The tennis scenes were dragged out it was like watching a 10 episode anime fight for them just to serve the damn ball. Got annoying at times. Was cool for the first 39 minutes. 3. The ending! What the hell… Patrick and Art hugged (aww cute) but that’s it?!? I just felt like it was an unfinished ending. I wanted Tashi to get a bad ending (cause she was terrible). I wanted the boys to get what they deserved.
