There is no depth to the story. Characters are one-dimensional with no meaningful growth. When comes to feminism I would expect a more relatable female character and be more REAL. But Elizabeth Zott has traits of a typical Disney princess including being beautiful and intelligent and kind-hearted, her daughter being a child genius, and her dog being the best dog in the world. This is imaginable in cartoons, but not in the real world. The 60s sexism issues are portrayed vividly which is good, but there is no depth. Only the surface is shown.
The book is written with good intentions but very poor execution. If you are into no-brainer cliche feminism, this is it.
