Stop comparing this clunky mess to Dark Souls. This game wants you to play completely defensively and the combat feels clunky unless you parry attacks. You start with a lightsaber but apparently you didn't get a quality crystal because little creatures take hits from it like a champ. The most annoying aspect of the combat is the way you swing your saber in an extremely generic fashion and doesn't change based on mobs or have an alternative swing, like a light and heavy attack or a frontal stab. In order to get any variation in your saber swings, you have to use force abilities. There are boss creatures and little mini-boss creatures like in any ARPG. The problem is they are easier than some of the little creatures... Like the 2nd planet you go to, there are these little rat creatures. Because of the way you swing your saber your first two swings often miss the mob leaving you wide open for an attack combo. Like the hitboxes are all jacked up. Like this thing is about to eat me but let me miss even with target locking and being right up against it...
Then one of the biggest issues is that you have just "forgotten" how to use your force abilities and remember how to use them just as you can't progress any further. They try to explain this away with "I have a bad wifi signal with the force right now" but come on... It would have been better served to have him learn from Jedi tablets left in the temples than just "Oh yeah my master taught me this but I just forgot." I really feel like this was the project D&D worked on...
Should have had the character start out with a metal baton, finding shock batons or something along the way. Then find saber parts to build his saber, then the different parts have an impact on the actual strength, speed, or agility while using the sabers. Same for the gear you keep finding that they turned into purely cosmetic.
Some will enjoy this game from a Star Wars perspective but if you enjoy ARPGs this is not for you... I tried this out because everyone kept comparing it to Dark Souls but man they must have never beat a Dark Souls game before.
