The show is good for new viewers to those being introduced to the avatar world. The scenery and introduction were brilliantly done at giving the audience a taste of what it would've been like during the reign of Firelord Sozin whose events would kickstart the main story. Another thing to consider is how marvelous the casting was for the Fire Nation as a whole. The ruthless intent and aggression they show in their fights and motivations is key at helping the audience understand what the other nations were being sieged with. However, certain smaller details important to the story and development of our key heroes needed to be introduced and wasn't. The show compacted many events in a short span of 8 episodes but did not disappoint like its predecessor when it came to the visuals, bending, and introduction of its characters.
I feel sorry for those who may have wanted the live action to adapt every little detail as I too caught myself feeling the urge to nitpick certain events and timeline of those events halfway through the show. But you shouldn't allow it to take away from the enjoyment of the new adaptation as for the most part stuck to the main storyline and material instead of deviating from our original source. The show itself is a fun ride and thrilling experience and does give some of our characters the proper representation and I am curious for a season 2.
