As an adoptive mother, I must say that I was very disheartened by the storyline that dealt with the Chinese birth mother and prospective adoptive parents, which was grossly sensationalized. Adoption was portrayed as less humane than abortion. The turkey baster scene would be laughable if it weren't so insensitive and inane. I am giving this show two stars because of the excellent casting. I loved how the Richardson children all looked like they could be biologically related to themselves and their parents. Resse Witherspoon is one of my favorites actresses and she didn't disappoint. Kerry Washington is also excellent, although I found her character to be depressing. The actress who portrayed her character as a younger woman looks nothing like her and the storyline was ridiculous at best - totally overwrought. I really wish I had skipped the whole thing -
